Project:Administrators
Welcome to the Administrators page. This page provides information about the role of administrators (sysops), how to become one, and how to contact them for help.
What are Administrators?
Administrators (also called sysops) are trusted users who are given access to additional tools for maintaining and managing the wiki. Their responsibilities include:
- Protecting and unprotecting pages
- Deleting and restoring pages
- Blocking and unblocking users
- Editing fully protected pages
- Responding to vandalism, spam, and abuse
- Upholding site policies and helping resolve disputes
Administrators are expected to act in the best interests of the community, follow consensus, and use their tools fairly.
How to Become an Administrator
To become an administrator, users typically:
- Demonstrate helpfulness, knowledge of policies, and good judgment.
- Request adminship on the Project:Requests for adminship page.
- Participate in a community discussion and vote.
- Are granted rights by a bureaucrat if consensus is reached.
See Project:Requests for adminship for details.
