Project:Requests for permissions
Welcome to the Requests for permissions page. This is where users may request additional user rights or membership in special user groups (such as Writer, Rollbacker, Bot, etc.), participate in community discussions, and vote on permission requests.
What are Permission Requests?
Permission requests are formal processes by which users can ask for advanced rights or group memberships that are not granted automatically. Community members review the candidate’s contributions, discuss their suitability, and cast votes. Rights are granted if consensus supports the request.
How to Request Permissions
To request additional permissions:
- Create a new section below with your username as the heading.
- State which permission(s) you are requesting and why you need them, including relevant contributions and experience.
- Community members will discuss and vote on the request.
- After the discussion period, an administrator or bureaucrat will review the consensus and grant the rights if appropriate.
Instructions for Candidates
- Be clear and honest about your reasons for requesting the permissions.
- Link to relevant contributions or user pages.
- Remain civil and open to feedback during the discussion.
Instructions for Commenters
- Use Support, Oppose, or Neutral to indicate your view.
- Provide a brief rationale for your position.
- Be respectful and constructive in all comments.
